Dr. Nester

Dr. Nester developed a deep love for animals early in life, reading every animal book in her local library by third grade. As the child of an Air Force family, she moved frequently, with pets serving as constant companions through each transition.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Genetics, cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 1997 and later graduated with honors from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. Initially pursuing a path in biochemistry, Dr. Nester discovered her passion for veterinary medicine while volunteering at a local clinic where the combination of science, problem-solving, and the human–animal bond resonated deeply.

Throughout her career, Dr. Nester has practiced in a wide range of clinical settings including high-volume shelters, progressive private practices, and long-term solo leadership in a busy clinic. This breadth of experience allows her to adapt to each patient’s needs with both clinical precision and empathy.

Known for her expertise in animal behavior, Dr. Nester uses low-stress handling and positive distraction techniques to make veterinary visits more comfortable for pets. She is deeply committed to compassionate, personalized care for both animals and their owners.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys traveling, relaxing at the beach, and exploring Houston’s diverse culture with her husband. She shares her home with a gentle Pitbull and a three-legged cat.
