Dr. Kenneth Butcher

Dr. Butcher is our permanent Monday veterinarian.  He is originally from Thousand Oaks, California. After high school, he joined the Navy and served 8 years as a Submarine Torpedoman deployed in the Pacific. After separating and while completing his bachelor's, he worked part-time as a kennel assistant, where he found the love and fulfillment that comes with working with animals, motivating him to become a veterinarian. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from American Military University, his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University, and completed his clinical year at Lincoln Memorial University. His special interests in veterinary medicine are surgery, pharmacology, and radiology, and going out of his way to play with every puppy and kitten that comes into the clinic. Dr. Butcher's previous position was Medical Director at VCA Countryside, and now he currently works as a relief veterinarian for various corporate and private clinics throughout Houston.

At home, his zoo consists of 7 pets (so far): his crazy Australian Shepherd, Milo; his two cats, Fiona and Butters; and his chinchilla family, Remington Steele and Mama June, with their boys Harry and Lloyd. Outside of work, Dr. Butcher enjoys cooking, working out, and wrestling his many animals for a spot on the couch.
