Dr. Evelyn Marie Sierra Ph.D., D.V.M. was born during a blizzard in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised in the beautiful tropical Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. In 1979, she graduated from Saint Johns Preparatory High School and moved to Boston.
Dr. Sierra earned a Bachelor in Liberal Arts & Science, with a major in Biology from Boston University in 1983. In 1983, seeking warmer weather, she relocated to Houston, where she worked as a research assistant in the Medical Center. In 1985 she was accepted at Texas A & M University, College Of Veterinary Medicine. She earned a Ph.D. in Veterinary Anatomy in 1991 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Dr. Sierra has worked for shelters, emergency hospitals, private practice, and corporate practice and as a private contract relief veterinarian. Special areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and preventive care, and client education. Dr. Sierra speaks both English and Spanish.
She is the proud owner of a black lab named Midnight, a medium mix breed named Rosy, African Grey Parrot Ivory, and 2 cats Bubbles and Zimba. Her human companions include an awesome husband Ed (together since 1979) and a son Marty.
